The smallest appellation of the Mâconnais boasts a mere 30 ha (71 acres) under production. Is it Pouilly-Vinzelles’ twin sister (50 ha / 123 acres) ? Well maybe not : although small this appellation offers two sorts of soil : first an atypical part made of schist ; then one with clay and limestone similar to the climat « Les Buchardières » at Pouilly-Vinzelles. Our east-facing Pouilly-Loché climat « La Colonge » comes from the latter. A wine of real finesse and character. A wine to discover.
